Banjo done in color pencil and watercolor paint  is a handsome boy who’s owners are wine makers up in Hopland…  a rough life romping in the vineyards!  Lucky boy!  The day of the photo he was sporting a smashing hair cut from the groomers.  The body cut was short but his muzzle still had the bouvier beard.   We took this shot in the country in hills over looking Petaluma.   It was the end of the day and the sun was shining off his coat. When I did his portrait I was able to see all of the movement in the hair on his neck. You can see the beautiful reddish highlights in muzzle.

  1. Lesley did such a beautiful drawing of our beloved dog Banjo. She truly captured his spirit. I feel blessed to have him in our lives. He started out as a police dog in Southern Calif, then was adopted by our family in Northern Idaho. He now lives on a mountain in the wine country of Calif. We were in awe that she truly was able to see his inner light.
